The kids have all been working so hard and it is paying off! We are finished the show and everything is looking great! Still some things could be improved and worked on at home!
We need all the kids to be REALLY practicing their harmonies, lines and transitions. We can't have anyone still looking at scripts or asking us what cast they're on or if they're in a scene. Both Sarah and I will be up in the booth during the show and they WON'T be able to ask us.
We have been very blessed to have Cody Friesen come in and work on the kids acting skills! He has really brought a lot out of the kids and I know they've learned so much from him.
All the kids have put SO much effort into the show and we are very proud of them. They have all come leaps and bounds from where they were at the beginning of the year! Our show is really coming together and we are both so very excited to get into the theatre and see them perform Disney My Son Pinocchio Jr.
We also want to thank all the parents who have been putting in COUNTLESS hours into the show! The show could not go on without all of your hard work and dedication. God gave us all different talents and gifts to use for His glory and it's amazing to see everyone's talents being used to create a magnificent show.

Costume Committee Report
The
costume committee has been busy meeting on Wednesdays during theatre.
Our hard working crew is making the most beautiful fairy costumes - 10
of them to be exact. Jo-Ann Dykstra is our seamstress extraordinaire
and she has not only been mentoring the group, but also sewing many more
costumes at her home. We have also been truly blessed by the Mission
Value Village, who has donated many of our costumes. As well, Sarah and
Bruce Dohan's grandmother, Anna, has jumped aboard our costume ship and
is making some of the Pleasure Island costumes along with various other
ones. On Wednesday, April 22 we will dress the cast in costume and
assess where we are at. We look forward to seeing these beautiful
costumes on the kids. One of the next things our committee has to do is
make some fairy shoes, flower jewelry and a few other crafty pieces.
So, if you are good in the craft department, we would love to get some
help. We will also be sewing some aprons, so if you have a machine at
home and can whip a few up (or even one), we will get you connected with
some fabric and thread.
As
detailed in previous emails, we need each cast member to get a nude
bodysuit and black "mary-jane" type shoes (girls) and black bike shorts
and black dress shoes (boys). You can refer to the below email links
for examples. The mary-jane shoes can be flats or have a small heel.
The shoe link below is to what is called a character shoe which you can
get, but any kind of shoe that looks similar will work.

Props Report
What’s going on with the Props Dept...
All is going well in the props area, it has been fun looking for toys and
things for Geppettos work shop...we have just finished making the cage that
Pinocchio is locked in and the fairy wands are in the process of being made
since they were too expensive to buy. We have a wonderful marionette of
Pinocchio that is being lent to us (by Allana’s son) and have found pirate and
clown marionettes as well. We have painted a modern toy castle to look
old, have painted poker chips gold and are planning to make sea weed from green
garbage bags (I love finding creative ways to make a prop!). We have also
purchased a mask for Pinocchio which has a nose that grows!!
We are still looking for a few items...
a Pedestal table (this is a table with just one center leg, approx. 3 to 4’
in diameter) to display toys
a wagon (in good condition for toy shop)
a penny whistle
things for inside the whale (ie. small boat, fake fish, buoys, fish
net or anything else you might find in a whale!)
fake flowers for window boxes
a plastic goldfish bowl
And of course.... the “Flying Fish” mentioned in the song toys!
